A lightweight running hat in black. Laser-cut ventilation, UPF 50+ fabric, a soft curve brim. One size, adjustable.

It is made for long efforts in open sun. The fabric wicks sweat and dries fast, the vents let heat out through the crown, and the brim keeps the glare off without stiffening into a peak. Nothing on it is metal, so nothing corrodes in sweat or rubs the skin.

Across the front is the Lúthri wordmark in a classical serif, the kind of lettering cut into the base of a statue. The Torchbearer, an Olympian mid-stride, is on the side in orange. No stripes, no patch. Black, so it goes with everything, and vented, so it does not run hot.

Material and care

90% polyester, 10% spandex. The fabric is sweat-wicking and water-resistant with a UPF 50+ protective coating. Laser-cut vents through the crown. EVA foam brim. No metal in the strap, eyelets or buckle.

Hand wash cold with a mild detergent. Reshape the brim and air dry out of direct sun. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or iron. The brim is foam, so do not fold it or sit on it.

Four things a running hat has to do, and how this one does them.

Laser-cut ventilation

Heat leaves through the top of your head. The crown is laser-cut with a field of small vents, so it can leave. No mesh panel to sag, no eyelets to rust. The holes are cut clean through the fabric and do nothing else.
UPF 50+ fabric

The fabric carries a UPF 50+ protective coating, which blocks more than 98% of UV at the crown and brim. A long Saturday run or a summer of them, without the scalp paying for it.
Soft Curve Brim

The brim is EVA foam, the same material as a running shoe midsole. It holds its curve, bends when you need it to, and goes back to shape. Fold it into a pocket at the turnaround and wear it home.
Nothing to corrode

The strap and closure have no metal. Sweat corrodes buckles and salt crusts eyelets; neither happens here. Nothing rubs the back of the neck, and the adjustment stays put through a race.

The Wordmark

The Lúthri wordmark is set in a classical serif, the kind of letterform cut into the stone base of a statue two thousand years ago and still legible today. The serifs are fine, the spacing is deliberate, and nothing about it will look dated in ten years. It is timeless.

Black usually means a hot head by the second kilometre. Not here. The fabric is light and wicks sweat as fast as you make it, and the crown is laser-cut with a field of vents that let the heat out the top. You get the colour that goes with everything, without the heat that normally comes with it.

Designed in house in Sydney

The Heritage hat was designed in Sydney by our co-founder, Adam. It is made from 90% polyester and 10% spandex with no metal parts, in the same beige across both the crown and the brim, so it goes with everything you already train in.
